5 TV characters we would bring back from the dead

by All4Women
Fana Mokoena played the role of Mandla on Generations, we wish we could bring him back from the dead

As a television lover, there is nothing more heartbreaking than watching one of your favourite characters get written off your favourite show. We list 5 television charachters we would bring back from the dead.

At least if they are written off with room for a possible return one day (e.g., when someone “moves to America to further their studies”) then you can be faintly optimistic that you will see your fave again.

But when they die that’s kind of the end.

Or is it?

What if we could bring back our favourite characters (let’s face it, we’ve seen it happen before) with a small change to the scripts?

We can only dream, but here is who we would bring back if we could…

Isibaya – Zama

How can you kill one of our faves… at a wedding of all things? We would love for it all to have been a nightmare and see Zama back on our screens.

And then on my casting journey this nursery school teacher came to audition for Isibaya in Durban and the rest is history. Today she said goodbye and what a great shift she put in. Well done @Linda_Mtoba and RIP ZAMA NGWENYA #isibaya pic.twitter.com/qwwvTRcFti

Generations – Mandla

It feels like a lifetime ago but there was once a time when Generations was just Generations (and not …The Legacy). Back then, Karabo was married to Mandla until he was found dead in a dramatic episode. We are still recovering, more than a decade later.

But… what if he faked his death to avoid financial drama and made a dramatic comeback in 2018?

Uzalo – MaNzuza

Behind the scenes, Leleti Khumalo’s departure from Uzalo was shrouded in controversy. So much so that by the time her character, MaNzuza, was killed off, we were all expecting it.

A comeback would be nearly impossible but if the show decided to go the Isibaya route, we could see her return as a zombie.

TV: @Official_SABC1 will air a 1- hour special episode of #Uzalo to cover Manzuza & S’mangele’s dual funeral. Yeah they are both killed! #UzaloBTS pic.twitter.com/6YPwmc7s2I

The River – Ntate Mokoena

We’ve experienced unexpected deaths but how do you kill off a character in the first episode of a new show?! When Ntate Mokoena died we were left with a cliffhanger – as the show’s elder was on the cusp of revealing a secret that would have torn families apart.

We would love to see the spirit of Ntate Mokoena return, and finally understand what he was about to reveal.

#TheRiver1Magic Tjoo the River! There’s never been a soapie that kills off as many characters like this. Ntate Mokoena; Happy, Vero, now Andile! Who is next? They might just as well tell us before we connect emotionally ? Ba bolaya fela left, right and centre??? pic.twitter.com/O8zDgsQy2w

Isidingo – Frank Xavier

Frank Xavier was one of the most notorious characters on Isidingo. He was also one of the longest-serving cast members but even the most loyal fans didn’t see his death coming.

He died after the doctors ‘pulled the plug’ on his life (he had been declared brain dead).

However, all need not be lost. Frank could come back as a ghost for several episodes, advising those he left behind.

#Isidingo is making me cry ??ooh poor #FrankXavier can he wake up miraculously
