Some of us are absolutely guilty of not admitting when we are wrong. We do this because we want to win an argument, so yes, it happens.

It can be a bad habit and more about your pride, but perhaps it’s time for you to change your ways.

Admitting when you are wrong comes with owning up to your mistakes, this might be bad for your ego but it certainly is part of growth.

According to Big Think, not acknowledging you are wrong can lead to psychological issues and ruined relationships.

In addition, learning to deal with admitting fault is extremely important to sustaining relationships and personal growth.

Come on, at some point you’ve got to take the plunge and own up.

There are two impediments you need to be aware of:

Self awareness

You need to be aware of your mistake, some people generally are not aware that they have done wrong or might have misjudged something.

Behavioral health therapist Jane Permoto Ehrman of the Cleveland Clinic “When we feel a powerful surge of resistance, it’s usually us trying to protect our ego because we don’t want to look vulnerable.”

Liberate yourself from guilt

Surely if you’re fighting for “I’m not wrong” knowing very well you’re but doing it just to save your image has got to come with a little guilt.

“it’s important to recognize when our rebellious self is acting out in a way that’s not in our best interest or if it might be harmful to those around us,” said Ehrman.
