Matric is a busy year. Learners are faced with the challenges of choosing a career path, writing exams, applying for tertiary education and preparing for their matric dance. Whipdt exists to make the latter a reality.

The company was established early this year after radio personality and car enthusiast Ntlhe Mahlatsi partnered with motoring journalist Ntsako Mthethwa. The two decided to help two members of the Thokoza community with their matric dance, giving birth to the initiative. Partnered with Volvo as its sponsor, Whipdt came through for Bontle Dube and Onalenna Enkwetse from Thoko-Thaba High School in order to make their matric dance unforgettable. The experience included the girls being chauffeured in a R1.5 million Volvo chariot to and from the venue.

Bontle and Onalenna would like to thank Volvo, Whipdt, Connie’s Hair studio in Thokoza, Tshepiso Modikwe from Estée Lauder and Nontsikelelo Kalipa for the dresses, for collectively making their matric dance a reality.

The company’s first initiative was so successful that Whipdt intends to take on more students every year. If you would like to contribute towards the initiative, contact Ntlhe Mahlatsi on 079 248 2354 or email ntlheezee@whipdt.co.za
