With a fantastic selection of cultural, outdoor, and culinary events to offer, Pretoria can compete.

Here are fun things to do while exploring the capital city of South Africa:

Acrobatics in the trees with Acrobranch

There are eight adrenaline-pumping obstacles in the Pretoria North park, including Tarzan swings and a 300-metre-long zip line that will take you on an incredible airborne trip. Children must be at least 9 years old.

Acrobranch is a tree-top adventure that gives both kids and adults a new thrill as they move between trees in verdant, lush woodlands.

Smuts House Museum

Visit Smuts House in Pretoria if you have an interest in history. The residence has been meticulously kept to retain its original appearance during Dr Jan Christiaan Smuts’ tenure there. You’ll get the chance to discover more about his family and see the belongings he utilised on a daily basis, such as the books in the library and the wall art.

Freedom Park Heritage Site and Museum

Explore Freedom Park Heritage Site and Museum, a wonderful synthesis of nature, art, and history. There is something for everyone, from soaking in South Africa’s rich legacy in the Museum of Memory or Garden of Remembrance to viewing the sculptures and monuments strewn over three lush parks to pausing for reflection at The Wall Of Names. Additionally, visitors over the age of 60 and minors can visit for just R70, making the prices an excellent deal! Visit Freedom Park tomorrow by getting outside.

Wonderboom fig tree

The Wonderboom, a spectacular specimen of the wild fig tree Ficus salicifolia, is the star of this 200-hectare preserve. The fig tree is over a thousand years old, and according to mythology, the reason it is so large is that the chief of an indigenous tribe is buried beneath its roots.

Visit Mrs Ples

Visit Mrs Ples or even Mr Ples, one of the most complete pre-human skulls ever discovered. At the Ditsong National Museum of Natural History (previously the Transvaal Museum), you can see Mrs Ples, a massive 2,3 million-year-old skull.

With the exception of Christmas Day and Good Friday, the museum is open every day.
