What I Know Now About Being A Wife

by Bona staff

People magazine’s digital editor, Bridgette Matjuda, wrote this beautiful and heart-warming letter to her husband and children. Mr-And-Mrs-Matjuda_6-Months-Preggies-With-Second-Daughter-Mamoratwa I’m blessed beyond measure! Never in a million years did I imagine that I would be married and a mother of 2 beautiful girls. Even so, nothing prepares you for life – especially when ish gets real. You can prepare and read about childbirth (which I did) but nothing prepares you for the way that YOU will welcome your baby into the world (there is no 1 size fits all formula to any thing in life). Nothing prepares you to giving birth to a stillborn baby and in some cases, the mother passes away during a difficult and complicated childbirth. Nothing prepares you to witness such. Absolutely nothing. Matjuda-Family The same can be said of being a wife. No school on this planet can ever prepare you to be someone’s wife – just as there is no school for being a mother and there definitely is no manual that comes with each child. Nothing prepared me for both and in the mix of it all, I’m a career woman – living in the challenging times of this modern world. Being a woman alone – is not easy which is why for me, having a relationship with God has gotten me to where I am and it still keeps me going. Rethakgetse-Nomaqhawe-Leonora I live on Luke 1 verse 37, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (King James Bible).
