Curro to launch afternoon only classes for ‘late sleepers’

Curro, a private school in Durbanville will launch an alternative afternoon learning schedule to “free up” some students’ morning schedules.

These classes will be called CurroPM, classes for students who would like to sleep in and attend in the afternoon. Students will be given the luxury of choosing ‘afternoon only’ classes or they can implement a combination of both morning and afternoon classes depending on their preferred schedule, routine and passions.

The ‘afternoon-only’ classes will be held between 13:45 and 18:30. Students can also access remote live classes with a chance to review recorded lessons.

According to Business Tech, Curro confirmed that “with this new offering, freeing up the morning time means that academic overachievers can sleep late after burning the midnight oil, budding sports stars can enjoy some valuable training, and introverts can avoid large social gatherings like registration and assemblies.”

Though this is a new phenomenon, people on social media are quite happy and excited that we are moving towards a new and innovative space in our education system.

“I think this is innovative and exciting. Curro Durbanville is launching CurroPM where kids can attend school in the afternoon from 1:45pm to 6:30pm. This accommodates those kids who can’t wake up. I love it for late risers,” Senndebs tweeted.

“I actually love this model. It  allows us to have a family breakfast and lunch while planning the day ahead. We can go for spa treatments, attend to any medical and dental appointments earlier in our day. Brunch will be a bliss knowing that kids will only be picked up at 6:30pm,” Lynettebulule added.
