Letting go of your fears liberates you into living your life to the fullest. There are many things to worry about and fear should not deter you in how you want to live your life.

There are many things that can cause you to be fearful in life. This can range from personal fears, such as losing a loved one, to fearing for your safety in certain situations. According to the South African Depression and Anxiety Group, “fear can cause panic attacks, difficulty breathing, losing control, amongst other side effects.”

According to expert councilors from Real life counseling blog there are 6 steps you can take to overcome fear:

  1. Learn about what you are fearful of the most, this could be the hardest one because you have to face it in order to deal with it.
  2. Always imagine positive thoughts, this will help you see the good in situations because focusing on the Negative can contribute to your fear.
  3. Use your brain in different ways than usual. When you feel your fearful thoughts coming through, use a different part of your brain and use the counting method of 1 to ten to help stabilize the fearful thoughts.
  4. Work on your breathing, taking a long deep breath can force your body to physically calm down. Breath in and let it go slowly.
  5. Practice mindfulness, being mindful is a passive thinking activity that allows you to be more aware of your fear as we have learned on step one. Make a mental journal that will help you be more alert of your fears.
  6. Use nature as your therapist as this can help to reduce stress levels and can help change your mood from stressed to relaxed.

By trying these steps, it may help you to enjoy your life in peace and not worry about what you fear the most.
