Its time to start thinking about what meat to serve for Christmas dinner. While the crispy potatoes and hearty vegetables are delicious, the meat is without a doubt the star of the show. There are numerous options available, and each one provides something unique and special. When you gather with your loved ones, make sure to serve them a roast that they will enjoy. If you’re not sure what meat to serve for Christmas lunch, keep reading to learn about some of our favorites.

Roast Chicken

When it comes to comfort food, roast chicken ranks alongside spaghetti bolognese and your mother’s favorite cake. While all of the other meaty dishes are often on the menu for the big Christmas meal, serving a classic big bird like roast chicken is a mighty fine choice.

Pork

If you ask any foodie what their favorite Christmas dish is, pork is almost always the answer. Why? Aside from its sticky deliciousness, you can prepare your gammon a couple of days ahead of time, which means less fuss on the day of your Christmas feast and more time to relax with your guests.

Lamb

If you’re not in the mood for a bird? Try lamb; you can cook it on the grill or in the oven, whichever tickles your fancy. For a truly succulent result, buy your lamb from a reputable butcher.

Seafood

Serving  fish for Christmas lunch may seem untraditional, but if you’re looking for something lighter and healthier for your holiday lunch, fish and seafood are fantastic options. Salmon, cod, smoked salmon, smoked trout, sea scallops, and other seafoods ideal for a festive lunch.
