The Best and Worst fashion from the SAMAs red carpet

by Bongiwe Tshiqi

The South African Music Awards went down this past weekend and it was amazing! Moshe Ndiki covered it for us and you can check out his red carpet interviews on our Instagram page.

The fashion on the red carpet was lit! Here are a few pics of the best and some of the not so great fashion choices of the night.

Whose dress do you like best?

1.Nomuzi Mabena

The experimental fashionista went for a look that was surprising for her. Less edgy than her usual choices however she looked incredible!

2. Nadia Nakai

The rapper showed some serious leg. We like the dress, we just wish the fit was better though.

3. Pearl Modiadie

Pearl is gorgeous in this red number. She proves that you don’t have to show skin to look sexy.

4. Bonang

We know there’s been a lot of talk about this dress on Bonang but we have to say we don’t think it’s that bad. It could fit better but it’s definitely not atrocious.

5. Nomzamo Mbatha

This was certainly our favourite dress of the night! The actress is a vision in this cut-out white dress.

6. Blue Mbombo

The popular reality star stuns in her signature colour. Nice and elegant.

7. Boity

Putting the risqué aspect of the dress aside, we’re not completely sold on its prettiness in general. That train is quite random.

8. Luthando Shosha

Our April cover star opted for a beautiful pink dress but we just wish it fit her better.

9. Pearl Thusi

Another dress that hasn’t gotten the best reviews from the public. Again, we don’t think it’s that bad. Yes the sleeves and ruffles are a bit over the top but it’s an okay effort.

10. Lerato Kganyago and Buhle Samuels

The two stars opted for outfits that were sheer and lace heavy. We think Lerato knocked it out of the park. Buhle should’ve gone for a dress perhaps?

11. Cici

Cici also decided to go the sheer route and we actually like her colourful ensemble.

12. Mmabatho Montsho

The actress went with a metallic cropped number. We love the simplicity of her look.
