Makeup brushes and their uses

Applying make-up using the correct brush makes a great difference and helps save your product. We’re sharing what you need to know about the different face makeup brushes.

Lip brush

This brush has short and firm bristles that help pick the product and control your application. Its slim tip helps you line the lips before filling them with colour.

Angled brow brush

This has a short and slightly stiff angled head, which helps with the precise application of liquid, powder or cream products. The angle brush can be used to colour eyebrows by defining the outline and filling them. Dip the brush into the product and apply on the brow area using a sketching motion from the inner corner of the brows and work your way outwards for a natural look.

Eyeshadow brush

This has an angle like that of a brow brush, which ensures the eyeshadow spreads evenly along the eyelid. It is best used to apply eyeshadow to the lower lid and on the crease of the eyelid.

Concealer brush

While most concealers come with a stick to make application easier, others require a brush to help with accuracy. A concealer brush has flat bristles with a triangle tip to help cover targeted spots and blemishes. The pen-like brush is easy to hold, which makes it simple to reach the small unwanted marks on the face.

Powder brush

This rounded brush can be used for both wet and dry applications. The soft bristles are gentle enough to pick a small amount of product and distribute it smoothly on the skin. Shake the brush after dipping into your product so it spreads out evenly before you begin your application.

Foundation brush

This is designed to achieve smooth and flawless make-up coverage. The brush has tight-packed bristles with a narrowing tip for easy liquid application. Brush the foundation onto the skin as you would apply paint to create smooth strokes before the foundation dries.
