How to make your hands look younger

by Unathi Balele

As we age, our hands are among the first areas to show signs of time’s passage.

Despite taking care of our facial skin diligently, we often forget about our hands, leaving them vulnerable to the harsh effects of the elements and daily wear and tear. However, fear not!

We will reveal effect tips and tricks to help you regain that youthful glow in your hands and maintain their timeless beauty by Cleveland Clinic.

  1. Daily Sunscreen: One of the most crucial steps in preserving youthful hands is to protect them from harmful UV rays. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every day, regardless of the weather. UV rays can cause premature aging, fine lines, and sunspots, so make sunscreen a non-negotiable part of your skincare routine.
  2. Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise: Keeping your hands hydrated is essential to maintain their youthful appearance. Invest in a good quality hand cream and apply it regularly throughout the day. For added hydration, look for creams containing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or shea butter.
  3. Exfoliate Gently: Just as exfoliating your face helps remove dead skin cells and promote a radiant complexion, gentle exfoliation is equally beneficial for your hands. Use a mild exfoliator once a week to slough off dead skin, revealing fresher and brighter skin underneath.
  4. Treat Your Cuticles: Healthy cuticles play a crucial role in maintaining youthful-looking hands. Avoid cutting your cuticles and opt for a cuticle oil or cream to keep them moisturized and prevent dry, ragged edges.
  5. Hand Massage: Regularly massage your hands to increase blood circulation and stimulate collagen production. This practice helps reduce puffiness, boost elasticity, and keep your skin looking youthful.
  6. Stay Hydrated and Eat Well: Maintaining overall skin health is linked to your diet and hydration. Ensure you drink plenty of water throughout the day and consume a balanced diet rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and healthy fats to support your skin’s natural regeneration process.
