Award-winning and widely adored R&B sensation, Major., is coming to South Africa.

The singer will be hosting a concert in the year 2024 at the Sun City Superbowl.

According to ZiMoja, the organisers of RustyRocks concerts confirmed the news and their excitement to host the talented musician. “A lot of our patrons love his music, and he has an incredible following here. We have organised and delivered spectacular shows in the past and this one will surely be one for the books too,” says organiser Teboho Twala. RustyRocks concerts previously hosted local acts such as Zonke Dikana, Lerato Kganyago, and Nomfundo Moh. Their plan is to pull in more international stars. “There is a need for more international stars while we still continue to embrace our own stars.”

Major., real name Major R. Johnson Finley, grew up in Houston, Texas, in a blended family of 10 siblings. He began making music at a young age and performed at various musical venues in his hometown. After attending and graduating Berklee College of Music, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment.

With hits like Why I Love You, Honest, A Mothers Love, and many more, South Africans can expect to be serenaded by the dynamic Grammy, two-time Soul Train, and eight-time NAACP Image Award-nominated American Soul singer. “I cannot wait to touch down South Africa and feel the love from all those who have supported my music through the years,” Major. says. “I look forward to connecting with my audience and having them sing along to their all-time favourites.”
