Two for One: Boks game screened at Zakes’ Abantu Festival

by Sergio Miller

Fans of Zakhele Madida professionally known as ‘Zakes Bantwini’ will be treated to a two for the price of one music and rugby spectacle.

The well-known musician is set to entertain a large crowd for his highly anticipated Abantu concert at a sold-out DHL stadium in Cape Town this Saturday 28th October.

Meanwhile with the national rugby team, the Springboks, coming out victorious against England in the rugby semi-final, fans would have felt as though they were between a rock and a hard place by questioning whether they should go to the show that had been paid for, or soak in what could be a historic moment?

Fortunately, the Kwa-Zulu Natal native ensured that his fans didn’t have to miss out on either one.

In a recent Instagram post Zakes revealed that the Final between Springboks and New Zealand will be screened at the stadium.

The Grammy award winner congratulated his fellow countrymen for their effort in securing their place in the final of the Rugby’s biggest competition.

“It’s with great pleasure and excitement that we announce the country’s biggest fan park and World Cup Final screening at the @dhlstadium @abantuthepeopleza @cityofcapetown on the 28th of October 2023!

“WE WILL BE SCREENING THE FULL GAME

The concert is part of Zakes’ vision to step away from making music and more towards the business aspect of growing the South African music industry.

Some familiar faces that are set to perform include Goldfish, K.O, Major League DJZ, Younsta CPT, Musa Keys, Jeremy Loops, Goodluck, MiCasa, and many more. Meanwhile, Zakes will be topping the evening as the headline act.
