Social media users divided over Natasha Joubert’s Miss SA victory

Natasha Joubert shone at the Miss SA pageant last night when she wowed both the crowd and the judges, walking away with the Miss SA 2023 crown and 1 million rand, among other prizes.

Even though Natasha fought hard from the beginning, making sure that she sparkled in each category, some social media users were not happy with her win. Most of the commenters cited that she was a returning soldier who had been in the Miss SA top three and participated in Miss Universe before. They also shared how she wasn’t going to be allowed to participate in the one international pageant that we stand a chance at taking.

With all the buzz and traffic from most social networks last night, social media users took to social networks to congratulate the new queen, who got to don the Mowana (Tree of Life) crown created by Nungu Diamonds.

Even though there was a lot of congratulatory messages going to Natasha, other users were felt that Mellisa Nayimulu with some saying Nande Mabala deserved the crown.

Heres what some shared:

But if she doesn’t qualify to compete at @MissUniverse (our biggest international pageant) what is the aim of her win?

we’re not happy with the results!firstly, how do you allow a person who once was in the top 3 to come back and contest? She already had benefited a lot from being in the top 3.this should be made to give others an opportunity too. we can’t be having same people over and over again
