After TV host and radio personality Dineo Ranaka shared her struggles with her mental health in a few concerning Instagram posts yesterday, Kaya 959 announced that Dineo’s colleague Sizwe Dhlomo will be standing in for her morning show.

A statement released by the Johannesburg-based radio station read:

“The well-being of our people is the most important priority for the Kaya 959 team.

Given this, we have made immediate changes to our line-up after Dineo Ranaka openly shared her struggles on social media.

“Sizwe Dhlomo will now stand in on 959 Breakfast from 06h00 – 09h00 every weekday morning. Sizwe will be joined by Sol Phenduka on traffic, as well as the news and sports team.”

The radio station further announced that Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlophe will fill in on Afternoon Drive from 15h00 – 18h00, while George Manyosi will host Last Call from 22h00 – 00h00 every weekday.

Kaya 959’s Managing Director Colleen Louw added, “We are confident that our team of talented presenters will hold the fort extraordinarily well during this time.”

The statement concluded that the stand-in line-up will come into effect Wednesday, 24 May 2023.
