Media personality Siv Ngesi recently clapped back at “haters” who accused him of “doing too much” after a video of him singing the national anthem at the past Springboks and France match went viral.

As with many sporting events, the stadium belted out the national anthem before the game. It just so happened that the French Rugby World Cup X (formerly Twitter) account captured and shared the moment Siv proudly sang Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika.

A few X users were not too pleased with Siv’s intense emotions.

“He was just doing too much,” commented one social media user.

Another asked, “Na man, why is he performing like that?”

“That quick glance to check if the camera is on him. I am familiar with your game,” said another.

Not one to hold his tongue, Siv quickly slammed his critics, saying, “So much hate and negativity towards my French game content! While so many are being haters on Twitter [X], some of us are getting paid to travel the world! Hating your own lives must be so hard!”

Given the backlash sports fanatic Mama Joy received after it was alleged that the government paid for her trip to this year’s World Cup, Siv also clarified, “No the government didn’t pay for me… I was working!”
