The Real Housewives of Durban‘s Annie Mthembu recently took to Instagram to celebrate her anniversary with entrepreneur hubby, Kgolo Mthembu.

In her post, she wrote, “Happy Anniversary Dzaddy! I saved this screenshot from your stories when we just started dating in 2016. We had no clue that we would end up together; it was not part of either of our plans. But evidently it was a part of God’s plan.”

She continued, “You are one of the biggest reminders of the Power of God; your presence reminds me to have faith and trust in God’s plan for my life. Thank you for showing me the love of God through your love. I love you ?.”

The couple met while Annie was working as Kgolo’s assistant. The RHODurban star was in an allegedly abusive relationship and Kgolo would often comfort and console her. “He witnessed it all and saw how badly my partner at the time was treating me,” said Annie in an interview with Lungelo KM from the Engineer Your Life podcast.

Annie’s castmates have also spoken about the couple’s marriage, where claims were made that Kgolo was allegedly cheating on Annie with fitness fanatic, Sbahle Mpisane.

“There are evil, toxic, dangerous people who clearly have a personal agenda against – in fact, who are out to destroy me,” said Annie to the podcast host. “At some point, I told production that I didn’t feel safe because they were meant to make sure that they bring people who won’t put us in danger on the show.”
