Nomzamo Mbatha says cow dung in Shaka iLembe was real

Actress and Shaka iLembe executive producer Nomzamo Mbatha shared with fans that the cow dung used in one of the scenes was in fact real.

Nomzamo plays Queen Nandi, the mother of Shaka Zulu in the hit series Shaka iLembe. Since its debut, the series, as well as the actors, received much praise for its storytelling.

Nomzamo took to social media to share a picture of a pile of cow dung in a woven basket. She simply captioned her post, “That was real, by the way.”

The cow dung was used by Nomzamo’s character to clean out her hut.

Many social media users took to the actress’s comments section to ask about the manure as well as share their experiences with it.

When asked if the dung was warm, Nomzamo replied, “Quite.”

Another user shared that the scene reminded them of home.
