South African entertainers continue to have their work praised and their names recognised across the pond. Radio personality Tbo Touch recently shared that his former school – situated in New York – named its arts centre of him.

According to IOL, Tbo Touch (real name Thabo Molefe) attended primary school in Sharpeville while living with his grandparents as well as Thokoza Secondary School. At 15 years of age, Tbo moved to the United States and joined Bishop Grimes High.

Sharing the news on Instagram, the businessman, who travelled to New York with his sons, wrote, “4 years later, the prestigious private Catholic School Bishop Grimes High @bishopgrimes, it’s Board of Directors and management has chosen to honour your boy from Sharpeville by re-naming its arts centre to Thabo Molefe Centre of Arts and Music. The legacy of Robert and Majorie Winston Jones, who raised me through those high school years, will forever live through this milestone achievement. Never underestimate the power of humble beginnings… God is on the throne!!”
