The mother of London based singer Nakhane recently passed away earlier last week.

According to ZiMoja, a source close to the singer is currently deep in mourning over the loss of their mom.”Anyone who knows Nakhane knows how much he loves his mother. This has left a huge void in his life,” the source further states.

According to the source, they are currently preoccupied with travelling preparations and had to postpone several performances in order to fully grieve and concentrate on funeral preparations. The musician posted a moving message on social media to their legions of followers. “I don’t know where to start… But my mother passed away on Tuesday and I don’t know what to do. She taught me everything. I am the kind of person, I am (good parts) because of her. She was my champion, she chose me over and over again and I seriously I can’t say that about a lot of people. I don’t think I have ever felt this kind of pain my entire life.”

Many public figures responded to their message and offered their condolences. Fashion designer David Tlale responded, “Sorry darling be comforted. She raised the best you, you are blessed.” South African singer and lead vocalist of Bongo Maffin Thandiswa Mazwai also replied with some soothing words,”I am so sorry Nakhane.”

Nakhane dropped their third album Bastard Jargon earlier this year. Bastard Jargon is an experimental dance-pop record that departs from his earlier melancholic sound. The album is available to listen to on all streaming platforms.
