After facing a big scandal a number of years ago following a high-profile split from his baby mama at the time, Katlego Maboe has picked himself up and bounced back nicely to appear on the big screen yet again.

Maboe’s big comeback came in August last year when he returned to The Expresso Morning Show and followed that up by landing a hosting gig for the new SA game show Deal or No Deal SA in March this year, which has been a major success so far.

Speaking during the filming of one of the Deal or No Deal episodes, IOL sat down with Katlego who spoke about his return to TV and what it means to be back on screens.

“I’ve had 12 years of live TV experience, so I’ve taken that and compressed it into this show, where I try and save the crew and everyone as much time as possible in terms of executing on the minute on the job so we don’t have retakes.,” he said.

He added that he enjoys spending time with their contestants and learning about each person’s goals and dreams. He saidn that he tries to do the best every day in all that he does and is also so grateful for the number of work opportunities he’s received since his comeback.

“I bring everything that I can to this table every day, and it’s amazing to have a team that does the same thing. I’ve never seen anybody slacking in this team, and for me, it’s exemplary of what we, as South Africans, are and can achieve.”

“It’s a massive blessing having the influx of work coming in at the moment, and even before the dip I experienced, I never took any of it for granted.”
