In an interview with L-Tido Podcast, rapper Emtee shared what his last conversation with AKA looked like.

According to SA HIP HOP MAG, Emtee also provided insight into their relationship as well as the impact AKA had on the Roll Up rapper’s career and life.

Emtee, who is featured on AKA’s posthumous album Mass Country on the song Crown, revealed to L-Tido that the last time he saw the late rapper was when they recorded the above-mentioned song.

He shared, “[AKA] was one of the people who loved me for me, never judged me. What’s crazy is that the last time I saw him was when we were recording Crown.”

Emtee continued, “His last words to me were, ‘Stay safe, stay alive,’ then he hugged me and the hug was so long, I think it was like ten seconds, he hugged me. I’m big on energy, and I was unsettled after that because I know him as a get-up-and-go type of guy, but that day he was humble.”

Also on the podcast, Emtee explained the story behind his daughter Nairobi’s name.

“Because I flew over there got to meet Trey Songz, got to work with Trey Songz in Nairobi, so I felt like that was a monumental moment in my career. To top it off and to show you I’m a warrior, when I landed there I felt sick, so I was doing my sh*t sick. I was in the booth taking long because I was sick as f*ck. I had tonsils, I had flu, and I witnessed that in Nairobi,” he said.
