With just a few days away until the Rugby World Cup finals match between the Springboks and New Zealand, we now know what the boys will be wearing as they lead us to victory.

The two teams will be battling it out for the Webb Ellis Cup on Saturday evening, 28 October at the Stade de France in Paris. Both teams were crowned champions three times each, having won a combined six of the nine World Cup titles.

This will be second time the two teams will meet in a finals match, the first time being in 1995 when the Springboks won their first Rugby World Cup.

According to SABC News, World Rugby has confirmed that the Springboks will be wearing their traditional kit – green and gold jerseys with white shorts and green socks. New Zealand will also be donning their traditional rugby attire, wearing black from head to toe.

The Springboks’ finals kit is a major departure from the controversial teal and white “Checkers” kit, as social media Springboks supporters have called it.

Many memes and comments were making its rounds on X (formerly Twitter) when they debuted their look.

Why is the Springboks wearing a Checkers 60 60 kit?
