DJ Zinhle revealed that she was unable to go to New York.

According to The South African, the musician should be well in Johannesburg after losing her passport in Dubai. As a result of her losing her passport, she was unable to go to New York.

She was scheduled to go to New York for her daughter Kairo Forbes’ birthday trip, but on Monday, June 26, she disclosed via an Instagram Live video that she had to return to Johannesburg after realising she had lost her passport while in Dubai International Airport. It was reportedly a hugely disappointing night and morning for DJ Zinhle.

The DJ shared her daughter, Kairo Forbes, with slain rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA. AKA was shot dead outside of Wish restaurant on Florida Road, Durban on 10 February, along with his friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane.

Thus, DJ Zinhle was scheduled to travel with Kairo and AKA’s mother Lynn Forbes from Johannesburg to Dubai in order to connect to a trip to New York. However, she quickly discovered she had misplaced her passport when at Dubai International Airport, resulting in her being unable to go.

During her Instagram Live, she said, “As soon as I lost my passport I knew I wasn’t going to New York, which I am okay with now.” The video ended shortly after as she had to board her flight back to South Africa.

Lynn and Kairo Forbes went to New York anyway, however, they were unable to take their luggage as it was under Zinhle’s name.
