Amapiano artist DJ Busta 929 took to Instagram to mourn the death of his late friend and former artist Mpura, who died tragically on 9 August 2021.

The late South African Amapiano musician Mongezi Thomas Stuurman was best known as Mpura, a musical powerhouse on the rise. He is best known for his hits and collaborations on songs like Umsebenzi Wethu, Izolo, iDlozi, Amawaza, and many others.

TshisaLive reported that the former Amapiano star was in a tragic car accident with six other people, including musician Killer Kau, whose true name is Sakhile Hlatshwayo. They were rumoured to have been travelling to attend a gig in Rustenburg, according to the South African.

According to IOL, it was reported the musicians were traveling in a Mercedes that overtook another car in a dangerous area, resulting in a head-on collision with an Opel Corsa, which also killed the driver, Sanza Mohumi, a firefighter.

As he mourned his buddy on social media, Busta 929 posted a photo of himself and the late Amapiano star hanging around and making hilarious faces.

“Dlonti ❤️?️,” he wrote as he captioned the photo.
