South African actor Bohang Moeko has cancelled what would’ve been his first boxing match and says he will not be able to attend due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The event set to have taken place at The Firs in Rosebank, was set to feature him in a boxing match against 27-year-old Leigh Capper.

Taking to his Instagram timeline recently the actor said even though he will be out of the ring, he would still attend the charity event.

“I will not be able to step into the ring on the 24th as planned. However, I am fully committed to supporting this wonderful cause and will be present at the event. I urge everyone to attend and lend their support to this remarkable charity event. Your contributions make a significant impact on the lives of those in need, and your presence is vital in making this event a success.

“Once again, I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and I look forward to standing alongside you all in support of this great cause,” he said.

Previously speaking to TshisaLIVE Bohang’s opponent Leigh said: “I plan on beating Bohang by being evasive, reading his rhythm and strategically placing my punches.”

The fight was to have been one of 10 action-packed bouts lined up for the evening, which will be judged by international boxing trainers Jodi Solomon and Shadow Shabane.

Tickets are selling from R200 on Quicket and proceeds from the event will be donated to The Frida Hartley Shelter.
