Babes Wodumo ‘struggling with debt’ after husband’s death

by Staff Bona

South African Gqom star Babes Wodumo is reportedly struggling with debts following the death of  her husband, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo.

Mampintsha died in December after suffering a second stroke.

Kaya959 reports that the Gqom star hasn’t received most of her royalties or payments, which were allegedly handled by Mampintsha.

Mampintsha reportedly handled the couple’s finances with all Babe’s payments directed into his personal account.

According to a close friend, the Gqom star has fallen on hard times and needs the support of her family after her husband’s death.

“He has left her in a lot of debt. Luckily they own the house, but the debt is accumulating. To cut costs, her family have move into her matrimonial home,” the station quotes the friend as saying.

However, according to Sunday World, Babes’ sister, Nondumiso Simelane, has rubbished the rumours.

“Babes is self-employed. You guys are so used to women who suffer when their husbands are no more.

“She has been in the papers for a long time, and whatever is written about her gives her the energy to work even harder” the newspaper quoted Simelane as saying.
