Ami Faku featured on album honouring Bob Marley

South Africa’s Ami Faku has joined an array of African musicians to honour the late Jamaican artist Bob Marley on the album Africa Unite. The album is a compilation of 10 tracks from Bob Marley and the Wailers which sees a collaboration with artists from Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Zimbabwe, and of curse, South Africa and Jamaica.

These artists include Bob Marley’s grandson Skip Marley, Nigerian musicians Rema, Ayra Starr, and Patoranking, Ghana’s Stonebwoy, Afro B who hails from Ivory Coast, and Zimbabweans Nutty O, and Winky D.

Ami will feature on the beloved Redemption Song which was first released in the year 1980.

The singer, who opened for Deborah Cox and Musiq Soulchild in Cape Town at the Magic Music Sessions concert, took to Instagram to share the news of the release of the album.

In a separate post, Ami shared that she felt “incredibly honoured and blessed to be featured” on Africa Unite, adding that the album has some of Bob’s classic songs which have been reimagined.
