Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather hosted a black tie event in Sandton this past weekend. The event themed “Go black or Don’t bother”, was held at the Sandton convention centre on Saturday, with the aim of honouring South African boxing legends.

Tickets to the banquet started from R2500 up to R4500. Metro FM’s Touchdown presenter T’bo Touch and actress Pearl Thusi were the hosts of the prestigious event.

Describing the event Webtickets shared that the event “boasts the finest in fashion and lifestyle, with a melting pot of boxing, musical genres and cultures. It combines the excitement for the avant-garde fashion spectacle on the red carpet and an exciting music line-up, fine dining coupled with luxurious design and décor.”

The event was attended by Mzansi’s high profiled people including the Zulu king, King Misuzulu, Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Zizi Kodwa, boxing legends Baby Jake Matlala and Dingaa The Rose of Soweto Thobela and many more.

Sharing snippets of the event in a video, T’bo Touch commented:

“The undisputed world renowned or should I say the greatest of all time (GOAT) my Brother @floydmayweather, it’s all good to see you and the team is too strong ?? @theharlemhotboy you’re a genius. My Big Brother @dantan_82 I see you! #whatatimetobealive #tmt.”
