There are a few hours to go until our April cover star Simphiwe Dana‘s fifth studio album, Bamako. To mark the occasion, we throwback to her incredible performance of Zandisile from her debut album of the same title.
The album which dropped in 2004 thrust Simphiwe into the spotlight. She went on to win both the best newcomer and best jazz vocal album at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs).
