SA bids farewell to Gugu Zulu

Gugu Zulu is being laid to rest in Johannessburg today. His family and friends gathered for his funeral service which was broadcast live from the Rhema Bible Church earlier today. Gugu tragically lost his life last week while trying to summit Mount Kilimanjaro with his wife. News of his death sent shockwaves across the country and we’re all still reeling.

Gugu and his beautiful wife Letshego were such a big part of our #IAMJOBURG campaign and journey, and we filmed this with them just before they left to climb Kili. I remember watching their insert on Topbilling this year and seeing how easy they made this love thing look..and silently I prayed for such a relationship..marriage..where we will be bestfriends ,confidants above all..And also a man who loves me like this man loves his wife..what a gentlemen…listening to his wife say this just made me smile.. “I cry cause my heart aches….I smile cause you were always smiling…..i laugh cause you loved the sound of my laugh- Letshego #RIPGuguZulu

I am so heartbroken ?to hear the death of #guguzulu. Him and his wife “Letshego” have been my inspiration to wake up and hit the gym.
