Missy Elliott is back!

by Bongiwe Tshiqi

Missy Elliott is back after seven years of silence and unlike many artists who come back to the music industry and fail; its clear Missy is still relevant and will continue to reign in her success.

We are super-excited for the return of Missy Elliott. After taking time away from the music industry, we never thought we would see her work the dance floor and make phenomenal music again. The hip-hop legend has teamed up with Pharrell Williams on her new single and hot music video, Where there From (WTF).

The video has received close to three million views since it was posted on YouTube last night. It’s clear that fans are extremely happy she’s back. Although Missy has taken on modern rap, she has still kept to her classic and phenomenal dance choreography.

We can’t wait for more singles and perhaps even an album While she was away we saw several upcoming and younger female rappers make a success. These include Nicki Minaj and Dej Loaf, internationally, and Fifi Cooper, Gigi Lamayne, Delta the Leo and Nadia Nakai on the local scene. Most, if not all of these females hip-hop stars, were inspired by Missy Elliott.

Check out the video here.
