Man Crush Monday – Musa Ngema

by Boitumelo Mmakou

Durbanite Musa Ngema is no stranger to the small screen, but it’s his new role as Mazwi on Generations The Legacy that has us excited.

Unfortunately Musa is spoken for, but that doesn’t stop us from being completely taken by his acting skills, not to mention his adorable face. We stole a few minutes of his time to chat about his work and social life.

HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE BEEN SO FAR ON GENERATIONS THE LEGACY?

It has been an exciting experience. Although its nerve-wrecking I am now able to adjust to it all.

YOU HAVE BEEN IN THE INDUSTRY FOR A WHILE, INCLUDING ACTING ON 7DE LAAN AND RHYTHM CITY. CAN WE EXPECT MORE FROM YOU IN THE FUTURE?

Indeed there is. I plan to teach, and give hope to other aspiring actors and actresses. I would also like to go behind the scenes and become a director – be it for the small or silver screen.

WHAT DO YOU GET UP TO WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?

I do motivational talks. I don’t go out much but I occasionally enjoy chilling and having a few drinks with friends.

SPEAKING OF MAZWI; DO YOU RELATE TO HIS CHARACTER?

Yes, Mazwi and I are almost identical…(Laughs). I, like Mazwi, would like to believe I have morals. He is quite a shy guy, and I can also get really shy around people. But, the biggest thing we have in common is that we both put our family first.

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT?

My family is important to me; I definitely cannot live without them.

HOW IMPORTANT IS YOUR APPEARANCE AS AN ACTOR?

The thing about image is that you have to know how your body works. I try to work out at least five days a week and try taking care of myself by eating right.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A WOMAN?

I love a lady with confidence. If she believes she is sexy and beautiful then everybody else will see it.

WHAT WOULD YOUR IDEAL DATE NIGHT CONSIST OF?

A table set lunch or dinner overlooking the dam and even ocean, with no shoes on, and she’d have to not have any make-up on.
