Karabo Mogane talks about is new album

by Bongiwe Tshiqi

The winner of Idols SA season 11, Karabo Mogane, talks to us about his second album titled Matters of the Heart.

By: Fundiswa Nkwanyana

1. My new album celebrates love. The R & B album is packed with love songs that speak to the heart. I’m confident that it will bring lovers closer, and help to connect others. I decided to celebrate relationships and love because the world needs more of it.

 2. It was exciting to finally record songs that I had written years ago. As a teenager, I used to write songs as a hobby. Some of those songs were recorded in this album. Looking through my old music books and discovering lyrics that I could use was a special moment for me.

 3. I often write music from my own experience. When I’m alone, I write down my thoughts and they eventually turn into lyrics. I also write about how I feel or what I witness, and then add a melody to create a song. I enjoy the process of creating music.

 4. My favourite song in the album is titled Midnight Hour. I love it because it is about appreciating your partner. It’s romantic and sensual in a subtle way that moves you; I think the ladies will love it!

 5. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity that Idols SA gave me. Apart from the exposure, I learnt about the business side of the industry that I now use to grow my career. Today, I’m a celebrated artist who is building a reputable brand. I’m turning this brand into a business venture. I’m not just a singer and songwriter; I’m also a hard-working entrepreneur.
