Gabrielle Union revealed that her daughter Kaavia James inspired her new children’s book, Welcome To The Party. Gabrielle shared in part; “She came into our lives and changed everything.”

She added that the book was dedicated to parents who had their children unconventionally saying in part; “Really wanted to celebrate family creation and family expansion that happens a little non-traditionally. Our road to having a family was paved with a lot of heartbreak and a lot of pain. By the time Kaav came we literally had a party and we called it welcome to the party for her. Just wanting that for other families and creating literature that allows families the space to have that conversation.”

She continued; “There’s nothing that we’re ashamed about with our family and I don’t wanna hide anyone to make someone feel comfortable about my family.”
