Actress Nelisiwe Faith Sibiya has won the Best Actress category at the Africa Social Entertainment Awards (ASEA) 2022.

According to the ASEA website, the prestigious award ceremony seeks to celebrate the lifestyle and social entertainment of Africans. The ASE Awards also aim to give a much-needed appreciation to the ever-growing social media industry and to give a factual presentation of Africans lifestyle to other continents.

The South African actress took social media to express her gratitude for winning this international award.

“After so much breaking down and this is how I am ending my year! Another one thank you!! I’d like to take this moment and thank each and everyone one of you. I get so emotional because I know you’ve been supporting me from day one of my acting career, when I started I was so scared because I knew people would judge and try to bring me down as I was just known as a musician not them knowing that I In fact also studied and graduated with drama,” she wrote.

In the lengthy Instagram post, she states that she has received five or six awards in the past three years since the beginning of her acting career.

“In my I can say 3 years from 2020 of my acting career in @durbangen_etv this is my 5th/6th award. After being called names and being judged I can’t believe I am honestly an international multi-award winning actress,” she added.

Nelisiwe has decided to dedicate the award she has won to young girls in rural areas.

“This award goes to every young black girl from the rurals and locations who have nothing but just a dream,” she wrote.
