Arguably one of the fashion highlights of the year in Celebville, The 2016 MET Gala took place in the US last night. Each year the themes challenge celebs to try and be a little more daring in their style. This year the theme was fashion meets technology and most of those who attended hit the nail on the head. Here are the looks that stood out for us.

1.Willow and Jaden Smith
The siblings rocked the red carpet in black and white ensembles that were simple yet classic.
2. Gugu Mbatha-Raw
The actress took a more simple route with a white Gabriela Hearst gown and she still stunned.

4. Zendaya
The actress looks amazing in this Michael Kors gown! Not sure about that hair but that dress saves the day.

5. Freida Pinto
Freido opts for a cleaner, sophisticated look in this Tory Burch dress. She looks great, but she could’ve dressed up a bit more for the MET.

7. Nicki Minaj
Nicki went all belt crazy last night and we’re not convinced it worked. It’s just a bit all over the place for us.
8. Beyoncé
We know a few people have had their issues with this look but it was one of our favourite looks of the night. Queen Bey looks gorgeous in Givenchy.

9. Lupita Nyong’o
Lupita always stuns in green and this year is no different. That dress is everything! The hair is a little out there but it is the MET Gala after all.

10. Solange
We usually adore everything about Solange‘s adventurous style but this year we’re not so sure. The dress and that hair is pretty but those leggings and those sandals… we don’t know.
11. Kim and Kanye
The couple looked great in their metallic Balmain outfits although this was a bit predictable for Kim.

Another adventurous fashionista who disappointed this year was FKA Twigs. That beige dress was a bit of a snooze, even with the interesting back body art.
