#TBT Where were you when Boom Shaka first burst onto the scene

We’re taking it back to the early 90s when the face of SA music was changed forever by one group, Boom Shaka.

The foursome including Lebo Mathosa, Thembi Seete, Junior Sokhela and Theo Nhlengethwa were young, free spirited and unique in both their sound and appearance.

Initially there was resistance to the group, with many feeling like their style of dress and dance moves were too provocative but instead of slowing down, the group persevered and gained a huge following.
