Talking Fashion Trends with Jerri

by Amanda Ndlangisa
Lucoh Mhlongo

We caught up with Jerri Mokgofe, a fashion PR consultant and founder of the ever-popular blog, accordingtojerri.blogspot.com after our Trends High Tea. He tells us more about what we need to know about summer fashion trends.

Hobo-Chic

What did you enjoyed most about the high tea?

The host was absolutely brilliant and hysterical. It was interesting to hear some insights on the top three publications within the Caxton stable, directly from their editors.

What is fashion?

Fashion is an illusion; a make believe element that is portraying thought-provoking, bland or enchanting stories utilising various mediums.

What do you love most about fashion?

The fact that nothing is as it seems and the expressiveness of it all.

According-To-Jerri,

What are your summer fashion trends predictions?

  • Super torn / tarnished jeans will be the rage.
  • Prepare yourself to see lots of bare skin as sheer will take centre stage. Ladies will be going bra-less, so you will also be seeing a lot of side boobs and nipples.
  • Lots of piercings and tattoos will also be a thing.

Name five celebs that you have enjoyed styling?

I have enjoyed working will all the people I have styled thus far. Every job comes with a different brief, therefor posing a different challenge to me and the beauty of it all is in the process of getting to the end product.

What’s on your summer shopping list?

An airfare ticket to somewhere in Africa; Ghana, Kenya or Tanzania – I’ll take them all!
