Polygamist and media mogul Musa Mseleku sparked a lot of controversy on his social media when shared a video of himself explaining that men cheat because their wives would not allow them to openly have girlfriends.
The husband to four wives is an advocate of polygamy going as far as creating reality shows such as Mnakwethu and producing his family reality show Uthando Nesithembu.
Father to 10 kids, Musa wanted to take a fifth wife but was refused by his four wives. He later declared in one of Uthando Nesithembu episodes that he would keep his potential fifth wife as his girlfriend.
His latest comments on having a girlfriend, while married, came in a video form where he shared:
“Society makes it difficult for married men to speak out about dating outside of their marriage. We took a Western custom where a man is only allowed to date one person and incorporated it into our customs. It’s not part of our custom hence men will continue to cheat. We are not given a platform for discussion. Of course, it’s impossible to have a discussion with a lioness. The moment I feel attacked I’ll walk away from the conversation. However, you can’t stop me from being loved. ”
He captioned his post:
“How can we avoid men from so called cheating?”

Social media users reacted to the businessman’s post sharing:
“Let’s stop normalizing the lack of self control as a man and hiding behind culture. There is HIV/AIDS plus a plethora of other diseases that will come into the home.”
“The first wife spoiled this man, I blame her so much. Had she left all this shenanigans would’ve stopped. Sibekezelela too much yho (we’ve tolerated too much).”
One user seemed to understand Musa ‘s advocacy sharing:
“Let me say Western society has made it hard for women to even consider sharing a man. I would rather be in a polygamous marriage not only to have the transparency but also my space. If many black families would consider polygamous marriages their wouldn’t have been so much single mother in our community and poverty as a unity I believe they would put their resources together and build a bigger and better how. Just my 5c of opinion.”
