Zola Nombona to star in a new local series

South African actress Zola Nombona has announced that she will be part of the cast of the new upcoming local series that viewers eagerly await. The Xhosa actress has starred and featured in many local productions that have placed South Africa’s film industry on the map. 

The mother of one never disappoints as she continuously master’s every role that she lands. With each role she embarks on, Zola ensures that the execution of the character is acted out with eminence. 

With nearly over ten years in the film industry, it comes as no surprise that the delivery and performance of this award-winning actress never cease to astonish viewers.

My Brother’s Keeper is a telenovela that consists of a star-studded cast with many of South Africa’s admired thespians. According to DSTV, the cast includes the likes of Wiseman Ncube, S’dumo Mtshali, Lindani Nkosi, Nelisa Mchunu, Rosemary Zimu, Vuyiseka Cawe, Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala, Nkanyiso Mchunu, Sparky Xulu, Raphael Griffiths, and Nthabiseng Kgosana.

DSTV further shared the series storyline and a glimpse of what the viewers can expect from this versatile cast.  

“It tells the story of Nqubeko (Mncube), the headstrong and overambitious son of a mistress who is tired of being side-lined by his father. Nqubeko decides to break the rules of ukungena by going after his brother’s widow, Fakazile (Nombona), the woman who holds the controlling power to the Shabalala family empire. But Nqubeko’s mad quest for power and need for his father’s approval puts him on a collision course with his four half-brothers, threatening to tear down the Shabalala’s and their future. Who will emerge victorious… and who will be the casualties?’’

My Brother’s Keeper is set to debut on Mzansi Magic and is stationed to be a replacement for the highly liked telenovela Gomora. The 130-episode telenovela will premiere on Monday, 23 October at 19:30, channel 161.
