Cast and crew from the upcoming series Devil’s Peak (based on world-renowned author Deon Meyer’s 2004 bestselling novel of the same title), as well as local media personalities and members of the media attended a media launch to celebrate the show.

Shot in Cape Town, the five-episode M-Net show is a driving multi-layered crime thriller that follows talented but broken detective Benny Griessel (played by Hilton Pelser) who is tasked with tracking down the righteous yet bloody vigilante serial killer Thobela Mpayipheli (played by Sisanda Henna), whose crimes are capturing the imagination of the city.

Whilst circling one another, Benny and Thobela are brought into the orbit of desperate trapped single mother Christine (played by Tarryn Wyngaard), willing to do anything to achieve a better life for herself and her daughter. The fates of these three characters become inextricably linked as the series builds to its explosive climax. Combining gripping tension with uncompromising authenticity, Devil’s Peak offers an original South African take on the investigative thriller.

The intimate event took place in Foreshore, Cape Town, which boasted stunning views from the Nasdak Rooftop. Mzansi celebs and members of the media were greeted by the Cape Doctor while mingling and sipping on drinks, waiting for the cast to arrive.

The cast did not disappoint.

Shamilla Miller, who plays Anna, Benny’s estranged wife, owned the red carpet in a figure-hugging black dress.
