South African rapper Odwa Situma better known as Dee Koala opens up on how she got her stage name.

Speaking to Drum Magazine, the rapper told the publication that she was nicknamed Dee which was given to her by her friends, and she was stuck with the name which has since become well-known.

“I had a friend of mine who nicknamed me Dee, I never had a nickname so it kinda stuck with me and a Koala is just an animal I really like. When it’s on a tree, it’s able to sleep and not be afraid to fall off so for me, that resembled confidence within thyself. It kinda made me feel like I’m in my own lane.” she said while speaking to the publication.

“If I want to take a break because I feel like music is overwhelming and people are overwhelming, I can always do that,” the rapper added.

The rapper also recently tried out the Uncle Waffles’ new KFC burger. Together with the fast food restaurant, the Amapiano star launched her burger.

Taking her her TikTok timeline the rapper gave her review and judging from her facial expression she seem unimpressed with Uncle Waffles’ new KFC burger.

“You know what guys, let me try and taste the chicken without the other part. Sorry Waffles, I love you, but yoh. It tastes bad, but it works without the waffles, it’s all I got to say but yoh nkosi yam,” Dee Koala said.
