A few weeks before his birthday, Da L.E.S and others were accused of sexually assaulting a woman named Carlene Brown De Jongh. Sharing a statement on Twitter, Da L.E.S refuted the claims, calling it “defamatory, hurtful and wrong.”

The statement also notes that a criminal case of defamation has been instituted and is under investigation by the South African Police Services.
