Lynn Forbes launches new podcast

by Johana Mukandila

The mother of the late South African rapper AKA, Lynn Forbes has launched a new podcast called the Outspoken Owls. The podcast, according to TimesLive, seeks to redefine what it means to live as a middle-aged woman.

Both Lynn and Katie Mohamed will have candid chats on the Outspoken Owls podcast, which they will both host. Additionally, according to the publication mentioned above the two women’s dialogues should be focused on their individual journeys and experiences.

Katie, the executive director of Brandfusion and the creator of the women’s empowerment program W-Suite, told TimesLive the following: “We are thrilled to launch Outspoken Owls and look forward to sharing insights and experiences via storytelling to our audience.”

Although not specifically about women, the podcast is set to be opinionated, funny, informative, and engaging and is not committed to women’s issues alone.

“Women will relate to the podcast — but many men will learn from it. And I think both those audiences are important,”says Katie.

Lynn hopes that the podcast will encourage conversation between the hosts and the audience.

“We have stories to share that I feel will inspire our audience, but we also want to learn from our audience, whether they relate to our shared experiences,”Lynn shares.

Lynn recently celebrated her late son AKA’s achievement on his last album Mass Country which has been certified platinum.

“This world was not enough for you. You fulfilled your purpose and left your mark. There is nothing left for me to do but to preserve your legacy, the masterpiece that you have already built. It’s a complete work of art and it will live on forever in it’s own right, without me. I will honour you and preserve your memory, to the best of my ability, for the rest of my life,” she wrote on her Instagram.
