Mzansi reality TV lovers have been spoilt for choice this week, after Mzansi Magic’s Izingane zeS’thembu aired its first episode last night, becoming the second reality show to debut this week following Showmax’s The Mommy Club.

Izingane zeS’thembu is centred around Musa Mseleku’s five older children, Sne, Mpumelelo “Sbindi”, Lwandle, Mpilo and Abongwe. Mpumelelo’s girlfriends also form part of the cast, something that has sparked a lot of backlash from social media users.

The first episode introduced us to Sbindi’s two girlfriends – one featured in the episode, and one shown in the episodes to come.

Upon watching the first episode, Twitter users shared these reactions:

“Mseleku has really FAILED his SONS DISMALLY, how can you influence kids to be so obsessed with SEX & making babies everywhere?#IzinganeZesthembu.”

“Polygamy that is driven by money will make girls go crazy and cry to secure a spot because what do you mean you’re comfortable with not being the only one, having child by this boy and always cry for him ? At the age of 22? Mad business.”

“Sbindi is here to coach us about polygamy. I suggest, he must go coach mahlinza from the show teenage pregnancy.”

“Mseleku will be wearing his oversized suits to Rustenburg to hlawula a pregnancy. This show is basically about the son having multiple girlfriends, being reckless & calling it a sthembu #izinganezesthembu.”

Some showed respect to Musa Mseleku for his good business sense and for creating many shows under the polygamy banner.

“I gotta give to Mseleku for having us in a chokehold on these shows uThando neSthembu, Mnakwethu and #IzinganeZesthembu. ‘Thanx Ma Productions’ is working overtime.”
