South African award-winning television presenter, radio personality, actress and social media personality Bonang Matheba was announced to be a resident judge on the second season of Crown Chasers.

The news was recently announced on social media platforms, with many fans excited to see Bonang Matheba in a role as a judge on the show.

Crown Chasers is a 5 episode Miss SA television show where the top 11 finalists competing for the title of Miss SA will be placed in real-life scenarios based on the four pillars of Miss South Africa, which are duty, championship, empowerment and beauty.

The judging panel will also include the likes of former Miss Universe and Miss South Africa title holder, Zozibini Tunzi, and Leandie du Randt. The trio will be joined by a weekly celebrity guest judge which will help them choose a challenge winner each week.

The competition will have an elimination process whereby the judges will vote off contestants one-by-one until there are seven finalists remaining. These seven finalists will then proceed to participate in the live grand finale on 13 August where one of them will be crowned Miss SA.

According to News24, Bonang says that she is looking for someone “who’ll play a great ambassadorial role; who is passionate about her CSI projects; someone who is an advocate for social justice and someone who will play a role in terms of being a spokesperson for the youth of our country”.

“I am looking for a young modern woman that South Africans can aspire to be like, somebody that they see a little bit of themselves in; someone that is relatable, proudly South African and who carries herself with dignity, grace and elegance,” she said.

Crown Chasers will be coming soon to television.
