It is important to ensure that you are getting enough nutrients and vitamins throughout the year especially during the winter season. What better way than to fight off the cold with the following supplements which you should stock up on, especially during the winter months.

Vitamin B

This is the vitamin B-complex, a collection of water-soluble vitamins. They are vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3, B5, B6, B7, and B12 (cobalamin), as well as pantothenic acid, biotin, folate, and niacin. They all support cell metabolism, although having various roles.

B-vitamins completely boost your immune system and may improve your body’s overall health, according to Angie Kuhn, MS, RDN, Persona Nutrition’s Director of Nutrition & Research. They may calm the brain, improve the health of the neurological system, stimulate cellular renewal, elevate mood, guard the body against illness, and encourage a healthy cheerfulness that helps to ward off the winter blues.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C, a powerful immune system booster, helps lessen the frequency and intensity of colds and coughs. In addition, vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that guards against cancer-causing free radicals, toxins, and pollutants as well as heart disease. It also plays a significant role in the body’s manufacture of collagen, which maintains the suppleness of joints and skin.

Iron

Keep your iron high with an iron supplement! Iron is necessary for the formation of red blood cells which carry oxygen around the body, meaning it’s pretty necessary for energy and combating lethargy.

VITAMIN D

Ordinarily, Vitamin D is obtained through direct exposure to sunlight. So, you can see why you might need a little boost during the dark days of winter! It gives Vitamin C a hand supporting your immune system, it promotes a positive mood, and it supports bone strength by helping maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorous.

Zinc

Zincs help the body’s immune system fight off viruses and bacteria—making it a real MVP during cold and flu season.

According to research Zinc has proven to be effective in preventing and reducing cold symptoms.

It also helps prevent viruses from adhering to cell walls in the nasal passage and is involved in antibody production, an important immune system process.
