Stars attend premiere screening of The Masked Singer SA

Saturday marked the premiere day for The Masked Singer South Africa. The release of the much-anticipated first episode was celebrated with a premiere screening, where many local celebrities attended.

Fans were able to view the premiere episode on their TVs at 18:30 on SABC 3 and then 20:30 on SABC 1.

Held in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, the red carpet was rolled out for the event and had many stars – from soccer players to reality TV show contestants – in attendance.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela shared pictures of the celebs and what many were missing out on.

Spotted at the event was, of course, the show’s producer, Anele Mdoda.

Anele also thanked the attendees. “Thank you so much for giving us your Saturday evening.”

The radio host and producer was also seen with the SABC’s Head of Content Lala Tuku and Primedia Group CEO Jonathan Procter.

The show’s host Mpho Popps also rocked the red carpet. “Mpho Popps is so perfect for this show,” tweeted Phil.

One of the four detectives, Sithelo Shozi, looked glamorous in a Taússy Daniel dress, styled by Phupho Gumede K.

Soccer stars were also in attendance at the event.

Orlando Pirates player Kermit Erasmus and Polokwane City player Mpho Makola looked casually cool on the red carpet.

Former Survivor South Africa contestant and Channel Africa host Palesa Tau dazzled in all black while Galaletsang Koffman showed up and showed out in shades of nude.

Among other guests, singer-songwriter Nathi Mankayi and gospel singer Hle also graced many with their presence.
