Radio presenter and reality TV star Dineo Ranaka has reportedly been admitted into a mental clinic after revealing she was struggling with depression.

This comes after the reality TV star opened up about her battle with depression and her desire to kill herself in a series of post on her Instagram timeline where she said the following:

“I completely understand souls/spirit/people that commit suicide. I get it, I get them,” she wrote.

“Because I’m trying my best to not commit suicide. My mind is sooooo loud of late and life is fucking hard, so fucking hard and I’m trying my best but it seems my best is not enough.”

“My children, God. Abantwana bam,” she added.

However, according to a close family friend who told Zimoja on Monday, 29 May that Dineo has been admitted into a Pretoria mental wellness centre.

The family friend added that the mother of three is grateful for all the support: “She appreciates all the messages she has received from everyone. She hasn’t been able to respond to everyone, but she is fighting. She is really fighting. She is in Pretoria at the clinic from today. She will be okay. Dineo is a fighter; everyone knows that.”

Her sister Manaka Ranaka who has been providing the public with consistent updates on the DJ recently decided to show her sister love by posting a video where she can be seen holding Dineo’s hand.

She captioned the post saying: “Hands of a HEALER being healed!! @dineoranaka AKA Gog’Somahash.”

She accompanied the post with the song Umdali [meaning the creator] by Zoe Modiga.
